Warhammer 40k is NOT for Casual Players

Every time that I try to get into Warhammer 40k I get grumpy and frustrated... and I think I finally know why. I don't play enough! I used to use a small detail brush to dip in Testors thin liquid cement to apply the cement to my model instead of using their brush that comes in the cap. The side effect was that whatever acrylic paint that was embedded in the brush was dissolved almost immediately. I started using the cement just to deep clean my brushes and it works really well. I make sure to condition my brushes afterwards to keep them like new.

Do you have any experience priming metal miniatures? I tried primer from the DIY store like decades ago when not much else existed on the market. Also tried several Vallejo and AK airbrush primers but also a special AK spray can for metal surfaces. I ended up with AK 3rd generation acrylic primer but even this one sometimes does not hold on the metal miniatures. When using masking tape, even wearing off the glue film of the tape on the fat of the hand's skin, it sometimes still rips off the primer or even layers of acrylic color and varnish. I clean my miniatues usually with soap or aceton but sometimes the described issue happens. Any recommendations for priming metal miniatures maybe? Thanks in advance!

Wow that is a lot of gear. I went on holiday the other week with 5 paints (3 plus black and white), 3 brushes and 4 minis for 2 people to use. The main thing is prep, have your minis assembled, maybe even undercoated, so they can be painted straight away. A cup from the hotel and a saucer for a pallette and away you go 😊 one of those Doritos dip jars is great as a pallette (the lids are nice and wide) and water pot combo if you want something specific. The next challenge is surely how little you need to actually paint/hobby? 😉 PS you can totally use a tackle box for brushes, just drill a hole that bites into the edges of the dividers for your brushes to clip into
